7. One iconic hat!
Indiana Jones’ hat was found at the Herbert Johnson hat shop in London. The specific hat was called the ‘Poet.’ To make it look well-worn and loved, both the costume designer and Harrison Ford sat and twisted the hat until it had the proper look.
8. It just doesn’t sound right…
Did you know that the original name of the protagonist was ‘Indiana Smith.’ It wasn’t until the first day of production that they decided to change the character’s name to ‘Jones.’ Maybe we would have gotten use to ‘Indiana Smith,’ but it just doesn’t feel right, does it?
9. The only Indiana Jones film in the franchise to be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.
While there have been three Indiana Jones movies…OK, so there have been four, but we’re trying to forget the last installment, ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ was the only film in the franchise to be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. We’re a bit surprised that ‘Last Crusade’ didn’t get a nomination as well!
