4. Some cheap rags!
Kym Barrett, the Costume Designer for the Matrix, shared that many of the costumes were actually made on the cheap! Because of limited budgets, Trinity’s clothes were made from inexpensive PVC. And, Neo’s coat was a wool blend that cost only $3 dollars a yard. We think that Kym really made her dollars stretch and did a fantastic job!

Thirteen years after the Matrix debuted, it was selected to be preserved by the U.S. Library of Congress. Alongside other famous films, it was sent to the National Film Registry archives.
6. The Fresh Prince of the Matrix?
Famous actor, Will Smith, was approached to play Neo in the Matrix. Instead of agreeing, he turned it down in order to star in the Wild Wild West. Years later, he admitted that he didn’t think he was mature enough of an actor at the time to take on the role and he thought he would have messed it up big time. That all said, he said he has no regrets, as ‘Keanu was brilliant as Neo.’
