7. Bo (and John) knows!
John Matuszak, who played Sloth, can be seen wearing a t-shirt with the Oakland Raiders on it. This is an NFL football team that John once actually played on, when he was an athlete and before his acting career.
8. Blowing chunks!
Remember that scene where Chunk goes on to confess everything he ever did? One of the things he admits is puking off a theater balcony. This story was based on something that happened in the real world. Executive Producer, Steven Spielberg pulled this exact prank while growing up in Phoenix, Arizona.
9. Not in 1492…
The Goonies screenplay was written by Chris Columbus. During this same time he wrote Gremlins. Chris includes a nod to Gremlins in the Goonies, when Chunk calls the police and the responding officer says, ‘(This call) is like the prank about creatures that multiply when you throw water on them.’
