13. Could Marty pull off a McTwist 540?
Michael J. Fox indeed had a skateboarding double for complex scenes, but as an avid skateboarder throughout high school, Michael didn’t have to learn how to skateboard for the movie and many scenes of Michael riding a skateboard was actually him. Go Marty!
14. Moves like Jagger!
Did you know that Marty McFly mimics many famous rock stars during his performance in front of the school at the ‘Enchantment Under the Sea’ dance? He starts off playing heavy metal, kicking the speakers like ‘The Who,’ he then goes on to do a full circle guitar strum like Bruce Springsteen. Marty then gets on his back and plays the guitar on the ground like Angus Young of AC/DC. He ends his performance kicking his one leg up like Chuck Berry and manages a guitar solo like Eddie Van Halen. Impressive!
15. You’re just too darn loud!
Huey Lewis not only wrote two songs for Back to the Future, but also appears in the movie! After providing a first take of a single for the film, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale asked Huey to go back to the drawing board and give it another shot. That other shot was ‘Power of Love’ and followed up with the lesser known (but fantastic) ‘Back in Time.’
